Anchorage - Electric utility CEOs, human resources managers, and other lead staff from across the state gathered in Anchorage on October 15 and 16 for the annual Alaska Power Association Alaska Electric Utility Legal Issues Workshop.
Designed for utility management employees, this workshop features presentations from the attorneys at Kemppel, Huffman & Ellis, as well as peer networking and group discussion opportunities. Participants come away with real information they can take home, including updates and practical advice on labor and employment issues, developments in cooperative bylaws, member relations, and regulatory issues.
Topics at the workshop included labor and employment law, contract terms, utility loans and grants, utility and cooperative issues, and much more. Attendees also participated in group exercises and were able to ask the presenting attorneys any questions they wanted during an open session.
The APA Legal Workshop empowers participants with crucial legal knowledge that they can apply to their job and continue advancing the electric utility industry in Alaska.
