Anchorage - Accountants and other finance staff from electric utilities statewide assembled in Anchorage on October 13 and 14 for the annual Alaska Power Association Accounting and Finance Workshop.
The workshop is an annual event with an agenda designed by a group of electric utility chief financial officers with the goal of fostering professional development for all levels. The workshop's content is member-generated, and the conference has grown in attendance through the years.
This year's workshop featured topics such as a cooperative accounting roundtable, an economic outlook, accounting in power plant operations, financial onboarding, and much more. Icebreakers and fun social games sparked new professional relationships and rekindled old professional relationships.
The APA Accounting and Finance Workshop aims to send attendees back to work reenergized for their profession and with tools they can apply to their work.
